Scarborough Health Network in Toronto is seeking an Anaesthesia Assistant (AA) to provide care in the OR under supervision of an Anaesthesiologist, including block room support and inductions.
The AA will collaborate with the surgical team, maintain equipment, and ensure safety and compliance with professional standards. A Baccalaureate Degree in a related health discipline, a CCAA, and 5 years of OR experience are required; ACLS/BLS, and strong communication skills are essential.

Reporting to the Manager, Operating Room, the Anaesthesia Assistant (AA), a regulated health care professional, is trained to provide Anaesthesia care to stable surgical patients under supervision and immediate availability of an Anaesthesiologist.
The AA will provide technical and clinical assistance to the Anaesthesiologist, this will include assistance in a block room and with inductions within the Operating Room. The scope of practice of the AA is defined by their own professional standards and by the scope of the supervising Anaesthesiologist. The Anaesthesiologist is responsible for delegating the tasks and responsibilities of the day to the AA.
