Overview
AME (aircraft maintenance engineer), mechanical systems — Heavy Check operations at PAL Technical Services, a division of PAL Aerospace. We provide full-service aircraft maintenance, including modifying aircraft, line maintenance, and maintenance, repair and overhaul services for domestic and international markets. This role supports the Heavy Check Operations in Winnipeg, MB.
Responsibilities
- Perform heavy maintenance checks on company and customer aircraft as part of a fast-paced, dynamic operation.
- Work on aircraft types including DHC-8 (Dash 8-100/200/300) and/or Dash 8-400, ATR-42, and ATR-72 as assigned within the Heavy Check program.
- Work independently and as part of a team to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical systems.
- Adhere to Transport Canada Regulations and PAL standards; participate in required training to maintain or achieve Type-Certified status on company aircraft.
- Be flexible to work various shifts (day and afternoon) as schedules require; overnight shifts are not required for this operation.
- Engage in ongoing learning and development opportunities, including AME license reimbursement and type course/endorsement training if applicable.
Qualifications and Skills
- Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Course completed or equivalent experience (e.g., FAA training).
- Aircraft Maintenance License with M2, E, or S designation and a minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy maintenance operations is preferred.
- Experience with heavy maintenance operations is considered an asset.
- Experience with Dash 8 and ATR aircraft is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, decision-making, organization, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Transport Canada Regulations.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Willingness to work all shifts and adapt to scheduling changes due to operational needs.

Location and Schedule
Location: Winnipeg, MB. Work location: On site. Schedule: Day and afternoon shifts; 7 days per week; no overnights required. Starts as soon as possible.
