Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations and working on a high‑performing team of advancement professionals, the Alumni Engagement Officer supports and executes the strategic development, effective implementation, tracking and measurement of innovative programs, communication strategies and volunteer initiatives aimed at engaging U of T Scarborough alumni in support of the mission and strategic objectives of the campus and University. Responsibilities include all aspects of program management, including comprehensive internal and external communications planning, event budgets, data collection and updating, positive relationship management, issues management, results tracking and post‑implementation analysis, review and recommendations for modification and enhancement of future programming.
The Alumni Engagement Officer is responsible for all programming and delivery related to alumni relations. This includes, but is not limited to, U of T’s tri‑campus Alumni Reunion, class/year reunions, UTSC Homecoming, academic and non‑academic departmental efforts to engage alumni, alumni volunteer management such as alumni associations and networks, University governance and mentorship opportunities, as well as facilitating alumni support of student programs ensuring to provide value‑add opportunities for alumni and students, alumni recognition programs, and one‑off engagement opportunities to enhance alumni affinity with the institution.
The Alumni Engagement Officer leads new initiatives to engage alumni and community stakeholders, encourage volunteerism and philanthropic priorities. Updating alumni data is a key focus as well as creating strategies to improve data integrity. The incumbent is accountable for creating sustainable strategies that measurably increase alumni engagement and support important alumni relationships and co‑operation by ensuring that all programming aligns and integrates with the Defy Gravity, U of T Scarborough and Development and Alumni Relations Office brand and engagement strategies.
