AltaGas - Warehouse Technician (Grande Prairie, AB)

AltaGas is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Technician to join our team in Grande Prairie. In this role, you will manage inventory processes, ensure accurate stock levels, and support efficient distribution operations. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Pick, pack, and ship orders for internal and external distribution, optimizing processes for efficiency.
  • Utilize ERP software (e.g., Maximo or Oracle Fusion) to track inventory movements, generate reports, and update records in real‑time.
  • Collaborate with site staff and cross‑functional teams to resolve inventory discrepancies and streamline workflows.
  • Train and mentor site personnel on inventory best practices, ERP usage, inventory protocols.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance inventory accuracy and turnaround times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Assist with special projects, such as turnarounds as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in distribution, warehouse operations or inventory management.
  • Proven experience with distribution customer service processes, including order fulfillment and issue resolution.
  • Proficiency in ERP software systems (e.g., Maximo, Oracle Fusion or equivalent) for inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, while taking clear direction to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow, train and guide site staff on inventory processes and best practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary certification in supply chain, logistics, or a related field is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally within Alberta.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks in a warehouse setting.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail to minimize errors and support data‑driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members, vendors, and customers.
  • Familiarity with inventory management tools (e.g., barcode scanners, RF systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for reporting).
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, including WHMIS, forklift operation (certification a plus).
  • Problem‑solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime or shift work.
