Organizational Profile

The Prince Rupert Airport Authority is the regional airport serving the Skeena-Queen Charlotte region. The Airport provides commercial air services for both passengers and cargo transportation, contributing to the essential connectivity of the region and enhancing access to local activities. The Prince Rupert Airport Authority is governed by a Board of Directors, composed of the Mayor of Prince Rupert, the City Manager, and the City Council. The Directors of the Authority who oversee the operations of the airport are appointed by the City.

About the Role

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Airport Manager is responsible for strategic and operational oversight of the Prince Rupert Airport Authority. In alignment with the organization’s vision and mission, the Airport Manager oversees the delivery of Airport services, the development of Airport lands and facilities, and the management of tenant agreements. The Airport Manager advances community, government, and sector relations acting as a liaison for federal regulatory agencies, airline staff, general aviation groups, local government bodies, and other interest groups.

Responsibilities

This role requires a customer‑centric and dynamic professional to lead the operation, development, and strategic growth of the Prince Rupert Airport (YPR). The Airport Manager must be able to operate, communicate, and problem solve in a complex, service‑oriented and unionized environment.

Qualifications

Preferred: a postsecondary degree in a related field (i.e., Business Administration or Aviation Management) and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in aviation management or leadership. A combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Compensation

The salary for this position is $110,000 - $120,000 supplemented by a competitive total compensation package. This is a full‑time, onsite position that requires living on or within commuting distance to the Prince Rupert Airport.
