Job summary

Cargojet is seeking an Aircraft Structures Technician to perform structural repairs and modifications on sheet metal and composite components under the Manager, Aircraft Structures. You will read engineering drawings, fit parts, and install sheet metal structures in a fast-paced, safety‑sensitive environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Transport Canada AME 'S' licence, an approved composite training course, and at least 3 years of experience on transport category aircraft such as B757/B767.

Qualifications

• AME 'S' Licence from Transport Canada required.
• Approved Composite Training Course required.
• 3 years’ experience on Structure Repairs on Transport Category Aircraft.
• Able to pass practical test during recruitment.
• Type Rating or experience with B757, B767, B777.
• Must obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and AVOP.
• Must have own tools.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, detail-oriented, multitask under pressure.
• Proficient with MS Word & Excel.

Responsibilities

• Repair aircraft structures on sheet metal and composite components.
• Perform structural repairs and modifications on B757, B767 aircraft.
• Read the SRM, CMM, AMM and Engineering Drawings.
• Assemble and fit detail parts and structures, including composite.
• Plan, layout, assemble, and install sheet metal components from blueprints, verbal instructions, and sketches.
• Fabricate, assemble, locate, and install sheet metal parts and components by forming, drilling, shaping, bending, cutting, riveting, filing, and dimpling.
• Demonstrate excellent problem solving, planning, organizational, and communication skills.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned incidental to the work described herein.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for Aircraft structural repairs on sheet metal and composite components.
• Responsible for all facets related to structural repairs and modification on B757, B767 aircraft.
• Read the S.R.M., C.M.M, A.M.M and Engineering Drawings.
• Assemble and fit detail parts and structures, including composite.
• Plan, layout, assemble, and install sheet metal components working from blueprints, verbal instructions, and sketches.
• Fabricate, assemble, locate, and install sheet metal parts and components by forming, drilling, shaping, bending, cutting, riveting, filing, and dimpling.
• Demonstrate excellent problem solving, planning, organizational, and communication skills.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and be detail-oriented, able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
• Ability to use computers – MS Word & Excel.
