aircraft maintenance engineer (AME) (except avionics)
PAL Aerospace has partnered with Airbus Defence & Space for the Government of Canada's Fixed Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR) program. PAL Aerospace is responsible for In FWSAR Service Support (ISS), including 1st line maintenance with DND and depot level work not undertaken by Royal Canadian Air Force Squadrons. Depot level work also includes embodiment of aircraft modifications and conduct of Special Inspections. The position is for M2 or E licensed (or RCAF equivalent - AVN/AVS) Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to join FWSAR\'s heavy maintenance operations in Winnipeg, MB. Training for CC-295 aircraft begins September 9, 2025, in Winnipeg, MB.
Responsibilities
- Carry out and coordinate the inspection, maintenance and repair of company aircraft and related aircraft systems.
- Report to Maintenance Management on issues affecting serviceability of aircraft.
- Ensure aircraft are maintained in accordance with the company Maintenance Control Manual and Transport Canada Regulations.
- Coordinate parts requirements with Maintenance Management and ensure sufficient tools and equipment are available.
- Comply with all company safety practices and procedures.
- Complete all required documentation and certification of journey log entries for the work performed on the aircraft.
- Rotation to PAL or PAL affiliate base as a Certifying Maintenance Engineer \'E\'.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must have a Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Course completed or equivalent experience.
- Required: M2 or E Aircraft Maintenance License or equivalent rating per the TAM (e.g., Level A or Level C Authorizations).
- Experience using an Electronic Record Keeping System (ERKS).
- Experience with C295 / CC295 training is an asset.
- Capable of successfully completing the PAL FWSAR onboarding and DND DRMIS trainings (provided).
- Strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team; deployment with RCAF Squadron when required.
- Flexibility to work all shifts and adapt to schedule fluctuations due to operational needs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills; ability to obtain security clearances including Level II - Secret, ITAR / CCG clearance.
