Job summary

Wolseley Canada is hiring an AI Software Developer in Burlington to design and deploy innovative AI and automation solutions across critical business processes.

You will work with Python, C#, and Azure to integrate AI models, build scalable apps, and enhance computer vision capabilities while collaborating with cross-functional teams and maintaining modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with Python and/or C#/.NET for AI software projects.
• Experience developing AI, ML, CV, or related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered applications using Python, .NET/C#, and Azure.
• Integrate AI models, agents, APIs, and existing apps to scale solutions.
• Develop computer vision and Parts Detection capabilities to improve identification.
• Evaluate emerging AI tech and build proofs-of-concept where appropriate.
• Optimize performance, reliability, security, and cost of AI deployments.
• Collaborate with teams and document code, tests, and CI/CD processes.

What you will do:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered applications and solutions using Python, .NET/C#, Microsoft Azure, and other appropriate technologies.
• Integrate AI models, agents, APIs, frameworks, and existing business applications to create practical, scalable solutions.
• Design and implement Agentic AI and process automation solutions to improve business processes, efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
• Develop and enhance computer vision and Parts Detection solutions, improving product identification, accuracy, and overall system performance.
• Research and evaluate emerging AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG, MCP, embeddings, and AI agent frameworks, and develop proof-of-concepts where appropriate.
• Optimize AI solutions for performance, reliability, scalability, security, and cost, including model usage, token consumption, and cloud resources.
• Support and continuously improve production AI solutions by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing enhancements.
• Follow established software development, testing, source control, CI/CD, documentation, and code review practices, while collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders.

What you will bring:

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience in software development, with proficiency in Python and/or .NET/C#, or similar programming languages.
• Experience developing, integrating, or supporting AI, machine learning, generative AI, or computer vision solutions.
• Knowledge of AI technologies and concepts such as LLMs, RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, AI agents, APIs, and AI frameworks.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms, including developing or deploying cloud-based applications, is considered an asset.
• Understanding of databases, REST APIs, source control, CI/CD, testing, and modern software development practices.
• Ability to evaluate and optimize AI solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, security, and cost.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a curiosity for emerging AI technologies and a continuous-learning mindset.

Base Salary: $65,000 to $80,000 + 10% MIP
