Job summary

Genesys in Toronto, Ontario is seeking a Software Developer Intern to join the WEM Quality Assurance team. You will build AI-enhanced test automation for UI and backend services, using Java, Python, Selenium, Playwright, REST APIs, and AWS AI tools, under the guidance of senior engineers.

This hands-on role offers exposure to GenAI, data dashboards, and observability, with a hybrid schedule and 1–2 days in the downtown office each week; internship terms run 8 to 16 months starting May/June 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong programming fundamentals in Java, Python, or a comparable OO language.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and Git.
• Understanding of software testing, debugging, automation, or quality engineering concepts.
• Interest or experience in GenAI, prompt engineering, AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-enhanced automated tests for UI and backend microservices.
• Develop automated testing pipelines for reliable validation across Genesys Cloud WEM.
• Apply GenAI tools to accelerate debugging, research, and code refactoring.
• Evaluate AI-generated code for accuracy, maintainability, and security.
• Build data-rich dashboards and defect analysis to surface quality trends.
• Investigate performance and software behavior using testing and observability tools.
• Drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle with evidence-based validation.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional partners to improve automation and processes.
