Summary

Engineer production‑grade AI agent solutions and workflows that integrate safely with Distribution Technology applications. Build containerized agent services on Azure using Microsoft Agent Framework (C# / .NET), implement runtime safety guardrails, and instrument evaluation and experimentation so product teams can learn and scale with confidence. Align on shared enterprise protocols while maintaining operational independence and strong SLOs.

What you’ll do
  • Build agent solutions: Develop agent‑ready services in C# / .NET 8+ using Microsoft Agent Framework; deploy as containers on Azure App Service (or Container Apps / Kubernetes as required). Integrate with enterprise APIs through Azure API Management; implement strong authN / Z with Entra ID and managed identities.
  • Safety and guardrails: Enforce policy‑as‑code for toxicity / bias filtering, prompt shielding, PII leakage checks, quotas, and scoped actions; ensure full auditability. Integrate with centrally managed safeguards; implement human‑in‑the‑loop approval points where needed.
  • Evaluation and experimentation: Implement evaluation harnesses for accuracy, faithfulness, hallucination risk, completeness, relevancy, tone / formatting up A / B testing and canary capabilities (exposure management, experiment registry, metrics) via Azure AI evaluation / observability or approved platforms; tie results to adoption and business outcomes.
  • Observability and performance: Instrument services and workflows with OpenTelemetry (traces / metrics / logs); publish dashboards for KPIs / KRIs and audit evidence. Support streaming outputs, latency budgets, and back‑pressure controls; optimize cost and throughput with clear SLOs.
  • Durable execution and state: Design long‑running workflows with checkpointing, resumability, idempotency, retries / timeouts, and compensation where appropriate. Persist state in Cosmos DB or SQL; define exception handling, unusual‑request detection, and escalation paths with product owners.
  • Reliable, independent delivery: Reuse shared enterprise components (APIM policies, Entra scopes, telemetry conventions) while maintaining independent pipelines and “deployment stamps” for safe iteration and tools via standard contracts (”, MCP clients / servers) to interoperate with other teams without runtime coupling.
What you bring
  • 5+ years in backend / platform engineering delivering production services on Azure (App Service, Functions, Container Apps / Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in C# / .NET (preferred) with Microsoft Agent Framework or related agent libraries; familiarity with Python agent stacks is an asset.
  • Practical experience implementing runtime safety controls (policy‑as‑code, guardrails) and human‑in‑the‑loop patterns.
  • Strong grounding in experimentation (A / B testing, canaries), evaluation metrics, and CI / CD automation for safe, incremental releases.
  • Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, API security, RBAC / ABAC, and Zero Trust concepts; experience with APIM and Entra ID integration.
  • Track record of partnering across product, data, and governance teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Nice to have
  • Experience with Redis for low‑latency state, Blob Storage for rules / config, and event‑driven patterns (Service Bus / Event Grid).
  • Familiarity with Azure AI evaluation / observability, MLflow / feature stores, and Power BI for operational reporting.
