Job summary

ALTEN Canada invites seasoned data and AI architects to join our team in Mississauga, driving Data & AI architecture across claims, underwriting, and operations. You will design end-to-end solutions, define patterns, and guide implementation with cross-functional stakeholders.

We value deep cloud knowledge (AWS), AI/ML mastery, and strong communication to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business outcomes. This role emphasizes mentoring and architectural leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background with ability to understand code and cloud deployments.

Responsibilities

• Support Data & AI architecture for operational areas (claims and underwriting).
• Design end-to-end Data & AI solutions.
• Develop use cases around document parsing, analysis and summarization across PDFs, images and emails.
• Build reusable Data & AI capabilities across operational teams.
• Design and evolve Data & AI solution architectures.
• Define architecture patterns, blueprints and implementation strategies.
• Design AI/ML and GenAI solutions.
• Coordinate business, technical and delivery stakeholders.
• Review code and cloud implementations without being responsible for development.
• Maintain architecture roadmaps and standards.
• Assess technologies, risks, costs and build-vs-buy options.

• Support Data & AI architecture for operational areas, mainly claims and underwriting

• Work closely with development teams to validate architecture implementation
• Review code and cloud implementations without being responsible for development
• Maintain architecture roadmaps and standards

• AWS: Lambda, S3, EC2, ECS, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, SageMaker, Agent Core
• GenAI: AWS Bedrock, Agent Core, Mosaic AI, OpenAI
• AI: LangChain, LangGraph
• 10+ years combining architecture and senior technical experience
• 2-3 years of architecture may be sufficient with a strong senior background in development, data engineering or data science

Languages:

• French preferred for Montreal / Quebec City
• English only acceptable for Toronto / Mississauga

Must-have skills

• Strong technical background, with ability to understand code, cloud deployments and practical implementation
• Strong AI/ML architecture knowledge, including model lifecycle, ML pipelines, SageMaker and/or Databricks
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand business needs and collaborate effectively across technical and business teams

In accordance with our compensation practices, ALTEN is providing the salary range associated with this opportunity. Final compensation will be determined after considering several factors, including professional experience, skill set, educational background, certifications, and geographic market conditions. The current target salary range for this role is $100/HR
