Job summary

Simplot Canada (II) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Simplot Company, invites students in post-secondary education to gain hands-on experience in our Grower Solutions trade area. The role blends retail operations, agronomy scouting, and participation in the agPROVE trial program during peak season.

You will rotate through responsibilities from loading/unloading and inventory counts to field scouting, field days, and shadowing leadership.

• Enrolled in post-secondary education (Ag Industry or related field).

Responsibilities

• Retail Operations: Assist in coordinating and executing product movement and organization
• Retail Operations: Assist in loading and unloading of product from customers and suppliers
• Retail Operations: Assist operations employees with various tasks, especially in busy season and especially when a customer needs to be served
• Retail Operations: Assist in treating seed, as required
• Retail Operations: Conduct inventory counts twice a week
• Retail Operations: Complete loadout tickets for customers on every transaction
• Retail Operations: Maintain clean and tidy yard including mowing grass, clearing garbage, levelling gravel, etc.
• Agronomist Intern Scouting Program Participant: Responsible for crop scouting three of your own fields throughout the growing season
• Agronomist Intern Scouting Program Participant: Consult regularly with your local Agronomist, ACE, and/or Agronomy Lead before and after scouts
• Agronomist Intern Scouting Program Participant: Use all technology and tools, including AgWorld, to track your scouts
• Agronomist Intern Scouting Program Participant: Assist with crop scouting as directed by Agronomy Lead, Agronomy Consulting Expert (ACE) and/or Agronomist
• agPROVE Trial Program: Execution and maintenance of field signing initiative
• agPROVE Trial Program: Assist with applying, scouting or capturing data from a trial field, as needed
• agPROVE Trial Program: Assisting in field days and customer tour days of trial fields
• Role Shadowing & Continued Development: Ride-alongs and role shadowing other roles in the company including Account Managers and Ag Innovation Leads.
• Role Shadowing & Continued Development: Actively participate in the Winfield United Agronomy & Intern Training Program

Summary
