Job Description
  • Analyzing existing operations, crops, livestock, staff, and financial documents and recommending improvements.
  • Assigns duties such as tilling soil, planting, irrigating, storing crops, and maintaining machines, and assigns fields or rows to workers.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures.
  • Preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and ensuring staff understands expectations.
  • Issues farm implements and machinery, ladders, or containers to workers and collects them at end of workday.
  • Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting.
  • Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
  • Drives and operates farm machinery, such as trucks, tractors, or self-propelled harvesters, to transport workers or cultivate and harvest fields.
  • Provide agricultural livestock services such as artificial insemination, spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, or equivalent.
  • Additional courses in business management or administration are recommended.
