Jealous Fruits is the northernmost large scale cherry producer in North America. We grow premium cherries along the shores of Okanagan Lake in the renowned Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. Our cherries are all hand packed in our state-of-the-art facility, located right on our farm, and shipped to our customers worldwide.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Packinghouse Manager or designate the Agricultural Packing Line Specialist will ensure seamless operation of our Thiele box forming machines, auto palletizers and strapping machines. This role will also oversee all packaging inventory and waste logs

• First Point of contact and lead for 7 x Thiele box forming machines
• Preventative maintenance on 7 x Thiele box forming machines and clam machines
• Oversee Thiele machine operators to ensure safe and correct usage
• Ensure operating manuals including PMs are updated
• First point contact and Unitec lead contact on Auto palletizers, palletizing belt timing/air pressure & Strapping machines
• Verification of pre-harvest inventory counts for individual plant department consumables/packaging and oversee all Packaging Inventory control in harvest
• Adjustment of daily packing inventory qty within Famous (FIFO training)
• PO/Packaging receiving point contact
• Oversee Packaging waste logs and quality specifications (labels)

Qualifications

Must be a flexible team player who works well in a busy and demanding environment.

Good working knowledge of specialized Unitech machines (for packing of fruit) , ERP and Inventory Control Systems.

Working conditions

Our working environment is extremely challenging over a short period of time. Applicants should be aware that this is a farming environment and days off may be limited during our growing and packing season.

Work hours are not calendar based, but are dependent on crop maturity and weather

• Approximately 60+ hours per week June to September.
• Approximately 40+ hours per week February to May
• Approximately 40+ hours per week September

The candidate must have the ability to work well with people of varying backgrounds and nationalities.
