Job description
AEP Data Architect, Fixed Term - Platforms - Toronto

We are pioneers at heart. What this means, is that we are always leaning forward, thinking of what we can create tomorrow that does not exist today. We were born digital and we are a new model of agency, with a deep skillset in tech and marketing. That’s why we hire curious, self‑driven, talented people who never stop innovating.

Our culture is big enough to cope and small enough to care. Meaning, that with people across 20+ countries, we’re big enough to provide you with the best tools, global opportunities, and benefits that help you thrive. While acting small by investing in you, your growth, your team, and giving you the autonomy to solve our clients’ problems, no matter where you are in the world.

This is a 3 month fixed term salaried contract, located in Ontario Canada. Preferably in Toronto.

About You:

You are an experienced and proactive Data Architect who specializes in customer‑centric data modeling. You will be a key player in our Data Architecture team, working directly with enterprise clients and collaborating with Adobe consultants to master the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP). Your core responsibility is to bridge the gap between disparate customer data sources and unified marketing use cases. This involves expert data discovery, defining and tailoring robust data schemas (Relational, Dimensional, Big Data), overseeing data ingestion readiness, and developing advanced SQL queries and sophisticated customer segments for activation. You must be self‑managed, customer‑centric, and eager to innovate within the evolving MarTech landscape.

What You’ll Do:

  • PROJECT TEAM: Coordinate closely with the Adobe project team and work directly with customers to document requirements for the Adobe platform solution.
  • DATA DISCOVERY: Collaborate with Enterprise Architect and Digital Strategist roles to provide data discovery through systems and business process review.
  • DATA SCHEMA DESIGN: Analyze a customer’s disparate data sources (e.g., sales, CRM, analytics data) to design and tailor a data model that unifies the data to meet their digital marketing use cases.
  • PLATFORM SETUP: Configure the Adobe platform data lake and real‑time customer profile for data ingestion and activation. Create REST APIs, use POSTMAN, and write ad hoc basic scripting to automate setup across environments.
  • DATA INGESTION: Test your schema design by loading sample data within the platform and coordinating with Data Engineer consultants for final customer data importing.
  • SEGMENTATION: Build, test, and schedule customer segments to activate marketing use cases.
  • QUERY: Develop tailored, sophisticated SQL to provide answers to customers’ business questions using the combined platform data (e.g., a 360‑degree view of the customer).
  • CONSULTING: As part of a consulting organization, you’ll be responsible for project time tracking, billing hours, and forecasting time toward customer projects and other key reporting.
  • INNOVATION: Join a team of Data Architects to learn and innovate together on new insights to improve team processes and solve customer needs.

What You Bring:

  • Proficiency and experience with designing customer‑centric database models and datasets (e.g., CRM, Call Center, Marketing, Offline, Point of Sale, etc.).
  • Proficiency with data transformation & ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Unifi, Snaplogic) on large data sets.
  • Proficiency with Data Modeling experience (e.g., Relational, Dimensional, Columnar, Big Data).
  • Proficiency with complex SQL and NoSQL experience.
  • Experience in advanced Data Warehouse concepts.
  • Experience with Business Requirements definition and management, structured analysis, process design, and use case documentation.
  • Experience with Reporting Technologies (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Experience in professional software development.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi‑task simultaneous different customer projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with the Sales team and lead customers to a successful outcome.
  • Must be self‑managed, proactive, and customer‑centric.
  • A Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science or a related field.
