Principal Accountabilities
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Fire-alarm troubleshooting and installation / construction
  • Design and carry out minor modifications on industrial equipment
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
  • Install industrial instrumentation and related devices
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal / written)
  • Possess journeyman electrician ticket or equivalent
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud, noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, different shifts (4,5,5,4), and holidays with advance notice
  • Basic ability to use a computer and typing skills
  • Must be able to operate machinery and / or industrial equipment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word
  • Must meet and perform maintenance electrical task
  • Experience with troubleshooting control failures
  • Experience with electrical test equipment
  • Has a knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
  • Able to work in a fast paces environment
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Ability to adapt quickly with industrial equipment
  • Experience with Allen Bradley VFD
Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to perform maintenance trades including Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
  • Prior experience in production / manufacturing related work
  • Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Experience with Arc flash and shock training
  • Experience with fire alarm
