A student union organization in Abbotsford is seeking an Advocacy and Campaigns Assistant to support student-focused advocacy and campaign work. This role involves providing administrative assistance, conducting research, and coordinating logistics for ongoing projects. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an interest in advocacy, and be highly organized. This is a part-time position offering $18.22 per hour. Preference will be given to Students of the University of the Fraser Valley.
The University of the Fraser Valley Student Union Society (SUS) is a BC Not-For-Profit Society representing and serving UFV students. The Society manages the Student Union Building and facilitates services such as the UFV U-Pass, food services, and the student health and dental plan. SUS also supports an active community by organizing events and providing wellness and developmental programming. As the official representative body of UFV students, our mission is to be an inclusive community that offers high-quality, accessible programs and services. We are the unified voice advocating on behalf of student interests in the UFV community, ensuring each student has opportunities to thrive.
Work Schedule: 6-10 hours per week
Compensation: $18.22 + 4% in lieu of benefits
Reporting to: SUS President
The Advocacy and Campaigns Assistant supports the President by helping advance student-focused advocacy and campaign work. This role provides administrative assistance, research, coordination, and on-the-ground support for ongoing projects. The primary focus for the coming year will be advocacy related to transit and increasing awareness of SUS campaigns.
