Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking an Advisor in the Special Loans Unit to support high-risk files within Capital Markets and Commercial Banking. The role involves administering a high-risk loan portfolio, ensuring compliance and oversight, and coordinating with lawyers, clients, and other stakeholders.

Successful candidates will have a college diploma with several years of administrative experience in commercial lending or a related field, and familiarity with transaction systems like LIS,

Qualifications

  • Experience in administrative processing of commercial and/or corporate files.
  • Ability to manage several files simultaneously and within tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of bank transaction systems (LIS, LoanIQ, CO, etc.).
  • Knowledge of loan collateral is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Directors with administrative tasks such as setting up new loans, renewals, overdraft monitoring and debt statements.
  • Ensure files comply with Bank standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee loan portfolio by tracking payments and maturities and report irregularities to the manager.
  • Maintain frequent communications with Lawyers, clients, consultants, etc.
  • Manage reserve and non-current loan records in non-current loan management systems.

Job description

A career as an Advisor in the Special Loans Unit means seeing files identified as "high-risk" for the Capital Markets and Commercial Banking (commercial Banking) sectors in general administration. Managing the administration of a high risk portfolio while maintaining compliance and oversight.

Your job
  • Assist Senior Directors with various administrative tasks such as setting up new loans, loan renewals, monitoring overdrafts, monitoring account activities and providing debt statements, as needed.
  • Ensure that files comply with the Bank's standards and standards.
  • Oversee a portfolio of loans by following up on payments and security maturities and reporting any irregularities to the manager responsible.
  • Establish and maintain frequent communications with various parties involved in files: Lawyers, clients, consultants, etc.
  • Manage reserve and non-current loan records in non-current loan management systems.
Your team

You are part of a team of 10 colleagues in the Special loan Unit sector and will report to the Senior Director – loan Administration. Our team stands out for the diversity of exceptional cases and situations, which keeps advisors motivated!

Prerequisites
  • College diploma and 3 years of experience or bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the administrative processing of commercial and/or corporate files
  • Ability to manage several files simultaneously and within tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of the Bank's various transaction systems (LIS, LoanIQ, CO, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the various collateral on loans, an asset

Languages: English. Reason to require this language: you will need to work closely with our colleagues outside Quebec.
