Job summary

A health-care provider in Manitoba is seeking a full-time Adolescent Mental Health Counsellor 2 for Intensive Treatment Services. The ideal candidate has a degree in Social Sciences or related field and at least two years of experience in direct client care, particularly with children and adolescents. Responsibilities include planning and evaluating treatment plans. This position is physically on-site in Winnipeg and requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check.

The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview
Experience
  • A minimum of two years related practical experience.
  • Child and adolescent experience preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Completion of a university degree with specialization in one of the Social Sciences or completion of the Child & Youth Care Worker Diploma Program or equivalent.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Preference will be given to active members of the Child & Youth Care Worker Association of Manitoba.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver direct client care.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate client treatment plans.
  • Demonstrated abilityto provide therapeutic clinical interventions and effective milieu management.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the focus of community resource identification and utilization.
