Job Reports to: Lead Manager, Ontario Works and Client Care
Salary: $23.80 – $28.19

SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Ontario Works Program Manager, in accordance with CDSB policies and procedures and CDSB Vision and Values.

The CDSB vision is to further develop a district service environment that is responsive to community needs, which values the individuality of its residents, is respectful to all who receive and deliver services, and fosters personal and professional growth and teamwork among all employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION

  • Answers and directs incoming telephone calls and office visits
  • Responds to inquiries and receives information from clients and the public
  • Responsible for daily incoming & outgoing courier packages
  • Ensures all visitors sign-in upon arrival and provide a visitor tag
  • Distributes client cheques and correspondenceCompletes correspondence and appointment bookings
  • Processes and distributes forms and application documents
  • Participates as a member of the team
  • Other duties as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent writing, communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability in word processing and spreadsheet software, Social Assistance technology
  • General knowledge of office procedures (copying, filing, telephone procedures, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of the full range of programs & services delivered by the CDSB including; Ontario Works, Child Care and Social Housing, EMS, Finance, IT

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in office administration OR a combination of education/experience acceptable to the employer
  • Relevant experience in the field of social services

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Satisfactory criminal records check
  • Use of a vehicle may be required
  • Travel may be required
  • May be required to work irregular hours
  • Must maintain confidentiality
  • Bilingualism in accordance with the French Language Services policy
