A leading university in Canada seeks an Administrative Assistant IV to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Departments of Anthropology & Social Justice and Community Studies. This role involves organizing events, maintaining filing systems, and acting as a liaison between departments. The Opportunity
The Administrative Assistant IV for the Departments of Anthropology & Social Justice and Community Studies works as a staff member of the Faculty of Arts and is a member of the Faculty of Arts Administrative Support Team. The Administrative Assistant IV works under the supervision of the Supervisor Administrative Support Services Faculty of Arts. This role provides secretarial and administrative support to the Chairpersons of Anthropology & Social Justice and Community Studies and other members of the two academic departments including full and part‑time faculty and other personnel with links to departmental activities. The Administrative Assistant IV is the first point of contact to respond to inquiries from students faculty University staff and the external community and provides appropriate referrals for complex issues. The Administrative Assistant IV is a resource and point of liaison in the department of Criminology and the Asian Studies Program and other units within the University.

To be the successful Administrative Assistant IV you will have :
Completion of high school plus 1 year Community College in business / secretarial course or equivalent.
Minimum one year related experience.
Working knowledge of several software packages including Microsoft Suite.
Ability to handle and maintain confidential materials.
Strong organizational skills and ability to function independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and listening skills.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
Experience working in a university environment considered an asset.
Website maintenance and social media communication experience an asset.
