About The Opportunity

The Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive support to the Senior Director of the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Reconciliation and Accessibility (EDIRA), Clinical Performance and Professional Practice portfolio. The role manages daily operations, coordinates administrative activities, establishes procedures and guidelines, and serves as a liaison within the portfolio and across Nova Scotia Health. The Administrative Assistant also supports committees, working groups, and other members of the Clinical Performance and Professional Practice portfolio, and provides backup to the Executive Assistant to the Chief Nurse Executive and Vice‑President when needed.

The Administrative Assistant supports an inclusive and equitable workplace that values EDIRA in all administrative practices, ensuring that processes reflect fairness, cultural understanding, and accessibility for all.

About You
  • Post‑Secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration or secretarial program; an undergraduate degree is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience providing executive‑level administrative support and office coordination, preferably within healthcare and across multiple sites.
  • International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) certification is an asset.
  • Knowledge of EDIRA principles and training or completed certification is an asset.
  • Advanced skills in modern office practices, technologies, and information management.
  • Experience using meeting and information technologies to enhance efficiency and organization.
  • Skilled in leveraging technology for meeting planning, tracking, and information retrieval.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred.
Compensation And Benefits

$25.6347 – $32.2431 hourly.

Successful candidates may be eligible for a benefits package that includes health, dental, travel, long‑term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
