A community college in British Columbia is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the East Kootenay Teacher Education Program. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, an Office Administration certificate, and experience with Microsoft Office. Key responsibilities include managing administrative tasks, supporting program development, and facilitating communication among students and faculty. Office Administration certificate specializing in administrative assistance or a comparable credential and at least two years of relevant administrative experience. A demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially strong intermediate-level Excel and Word ability and comfort; excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The incumbent will work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Building respectful and effective relationships with a diverse range of individuals, including students, faculty, mentor teachers, supervisors, and partners from the University of Victoria and College of the Rockies is key to success. Experience using information systems, learning platforms such as Colleague and FAST, D2L, Zoom, Teams, Survey Monkey and Brightspace, is required. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities are critical. The role also demands strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and negotiation skills, along with a proven capacity to work effectively as part of a diverse team.

As per the CUPE Salary Schedule and Collective Agreement, Pay Level 4 $3,901 to $4,688 per month.
Days and Hours of work : Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm Mountain Time
