Overview

Join Our Friendly Reception Team at Laura Mitchell Health & Well Being Centre, Halifax. The centre is a modern NHS facility providing services for Adult, Older Adult, and CAMHS teams. We are seeking a motivated Receptionist to be the first point of contact for service users and visitors. The role requires excellent communication and administrative skills, with reception experience preferred and an NVQ or RSA Level II qualification (or competency at Level II).

Responsibilities
  • Reception duties, receiving visitors and handling enquiries in a professional and friendly manner
  • Answering and directing incoming telephone calls, taking messages, and dealing with queries
  • Providing administrative support to clinical and support teams
  • General assistance to the wider team to ensure smooth centre operations
  • Room booking management and maintaining a tidy, welcoming reception area
  • Produce clear written correspondence and manage data accurately using IT systems
  • Maintain stationery supplies and report faults
  • Provide cover for other team members as needed

  • Be the first point of contact for service users and visitors
  • Contribute to a positive, person-centred service culture and maintain confidentiality
  • Work flexibly to meet service needs and support cross-team collaboration
  • Assist with routine office duties appropriate to the role and contribute to service improvement

Qualifications & Experience
  • Essential: NVQ Level 2 or RSA II or OCR II (or equivalent) or demonstrated Level II competency
  • Essential: Experience with Microsoft Word and other Office applications; ability to maintain diaries, arrange meetings, and work as part of a team
  • Desirable: Secretarial/administrative/customer service experience; NHS software knowledge; experience in a busy healthcare setting
  • Essential: Ability to organise, prioritise tasks, and maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness to undertake mandatory Trust training and ongoing development
