Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor – Crossroads Centre the Addiction Worker is responsible for assisting in the delivery of treatment services for clients of Adult Addiction & Problem Gambling Programs. Key responsibilities include: providing information and direct enquiries for services supporting and monitoring clients through entry and engagement in the continuum of treatment services (pre, post live‑in treatment and aftercare supports), the facilitation of group activities, and ensuring the maintenance of security and upkeep of the facility and program resources.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience

• Minimum of a two‑year Diploma in Social Services or Addictions field
• Minimum of one year experience working with Adult Addiction clients in a congregate setting or community‑based programs

Skills/Abilities

• Working knowledge of addiction issues crisis management and conflict resolution skills
• Well‑developed written and oral communication skills and excellent time management skills
• Ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary team
• Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of substance abuse and/or problem gambling
• Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Asset

• Knowledge or experience working within DBT and CBT frameworks is considered an asset

Conditions of Employment

• This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
