The role includes teaching medical students and residents through a clinical faculty appointment at UBC, on-site presence 6–7.5 hours daily, and after-hours telephone call coverage; site operates 24/7.

Qualifications

• Eligible for full licensure with College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
• Willing to teach medical students and residents; clinical faculty appointment at UBC may be required.
• On-site 6-7.5 hours per day with after-hours call coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervised medical detox in an in-patient unit with daily rounds.
• Assess withdrawal, manage medications, and medical conditions.
• Consult with family physicians, hospital emergency rooms, psychiatrists and hospitalists.
