Job summary

The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company is seeking an Actuarial Intern to support the actuarial group using knowledge from relevant coursework and exams. You will apply that knowledge to help solve business questions with autonomy in a hybrid work environment in Winnipeg.

Responsibilities include data collection and analysis, applying statistical methods, automating routine tasks, and developing solutions for business challenges while building industry understanding and collaborating with the team.

Qualifications

• Second or third year of study with actuarial pattern in Commerce or Science.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Proactive and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Data collection, extraction, and quality assessment from relevant sources.
• Perform analysis and reviews; ensure completeness and accuracy.

The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. The salary offered starts at $26.53/hour and varies based on the number of exams and internships completed.

Job Overview

Working with a high degree of autonomy, the Actuarial Intern contributes to and supports the actuarial group using knowledge from relevant course work and the actuarial exam system. They will apply their knowledge to assist others in the pursuit of solving business problems and answering business questions.

• Education
  • Second or third year of study, majoring with the Actuarial pattern of either Commerce or Science degree
