Munich Re Canada (Life) is recruiting for its 2027 team of permanent entry-level Actuarial Associates. We’re seeking curious, analytical, and client-focused individuals who are motivated to join a team that will enable them to build a long-term and successful career in the Life & Health reinsurance space.
As an Actuarial Associate, you’ll start your career with Munich Re within one of our many departments. Working closely with other actuarial and business units, you’ll work on meaningful industry problems while applying collaborative approaches to deliver high-quality solutions for both internal and external clients. As a valued member of the team, you’ll be called upon for your insights while receiving ongoing support and training to help position you as a future leader in the field.
As part of the Biometric Research team, you will assist with the completion of experience studies and assumption development across multiple lines of business (Life, Critical Illness, Disability, Long Term Care). You will also perform experience analysis for new business and inforce pricing quotes and work on research projects pertaining to biometric risks. Associates can expect to gain valuable skills through working with large datasets, balancing multiple projects, and learning from industry experts.
The Corporate Actuarial team is responsible for valuation and capital for the Life & Health business in Canada and the Caribbean. You’ll collaborate with many different functions across the company, to provide expertise and set assumptions for calculating policy liabilities. Associates build and manage complex actuarial models, learn the details of current and upcoming regulations, perform analysis of the business, and work closely with other departments to develop creative solutions.
GACG provides actuarial consulting services to departments and business units across Munich Re globally. Along with exposure to diverse, high-impact projects, the team offers a platform to develop a strong technical foundation, as well as a holistic understanding of our global business. As an Associate, you can expect to balance multiple projects, build your consulting and client communication skills, and learn from a collaborative team of qualifying actuaries and seasoned experts.
The focus of these Pricing teams is on acquiring and maintaining new business through fostering strong client relations, developing innovative solutions, and managing product profitability. As an Associate, you’ll be challenged to understand key drivers in profitability due to changes in assumptions, reinsurance agreements, industry trends, and product design. You’ll have the opportunity to work on high-impact projects including developing client strategies, reporting profitability to senior management, conducting market research, and quoting on special business.

Our base salary range for this role is between $87,000 and $116,000 per year, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to internal equity.
