Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Provides technical analyses and support for the actuarial function or department. Applies complete knowledge, skills, and practices to perform assignments.

What will you do?
  • Preparing, distributing and helping interpret actuarial or financial reports for internal and external use.
  • Participating in projects involving product development, reserving and reinsurance issues.
  • Gathering and analyzing relevant data from a variety of sources using multiple actuarial tools and techniques.
  • Perform actuarial valuations and financial reporting in compliance with IFRS 17 and other applicable accounting standards.
  • Run, and enhance GGY AXIS models to project and analyze insurance liabilities and capital requirements.
  • Supporting Experience studies and assumption setting.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Risk, and IT teams to ensure accuracy and consistency of inputs and outputs.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the actuarial reporting framework.
  • Prepare management reports and communicate key findings and insights clearly to internal stakeholders.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or Accounting, and actively pursuing a SOA/CIA designation
  • 1-3 years of actuarial experience in pricing, valuation or product development
  • Knowledge of GGY Axis and DataLink, MS Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Solid technical and analytical skills with strong problem-solving ability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter and team player
Nice-to-Have
  • Knowledge of Tableau, SQL and Python
  • Understanding of IFRS 17 standard and LICAT.
