The permanent full-time Active Living Coordinator develops programs, hires, contract instructors and volunteers, creates healthy lifestyle workshops and plays a huge role in the City’s Recreation Programs. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Completion of a post‑secondary degree in recreation or sport management, education, or physical education/kinesiology with a minimum of one year experience (within the previous three years) in the development, organization, and evaluation of recreation programs.
  • OR
  • Completion of a post‑secondary degree in an unrelated field with three years’ experience (within the previous five years) in the development, organization, and evaluation of recreation programs.
  • Valid BC Driver’s Licence - Class 5.

For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position.
