Region of Peel is seeking an Activation Therapist (Recreation Therapist) for Peel Manor LTC in Brampton. This on-site, regular part-time role focuses on formulating and delivering restorative, social, emotional, and physical activities for residents with diverse needs.

Salary ranges between $31.99 and $33.94 per hour, with a 14% in lieu of benefits. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, implementing programs, coordinating outreach, and collaborating with staff.

Competenze

• Must have post secondary diploma/degree in Recreation and Leisure studies or related field from an Ontario post secondary institution or equivalent
• Must have a valid Class F license
• Must have CPR/First Aid certification
• Computer skills are required
• Must possess teaching skills to convey techniques to guide residents and families
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision and organize programming
• Must be physically able to perform duties
• Availability to work days, evenings, weekends
• Food Handler Certification and Smart Serve Certificate are required

• Implement and conduct specialized programs to enhance self-esteem and self-worth
• Conduct assessments of residents’ recreation and leisure needs
• Coordinate and implement outreach services
• Assist Rehabilitation Assistant with restorative care programs/activities
• Maintain relationships and communicate with residents, staff, volunteers and visitors
• Attend in-service education sessions and staff meetings
• Maintain records per policies and procedures and standards
• Activation Therapist responsibilities as per job description
