Tammy Boyko and Carlan Wilbon with Aplin are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead for an immediate, ongoing temporary opportunity in Winnipeg. This role provides hands‑on leadership and operational oversight of the Accounts Payable function and is responsible for managing a team of 8–10 Accounts Payable Clerks. The Accounts Payable Lead will act as a key escalation point, supporting the resolution of processing discrepancies while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across AP operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership, guidance, and support to a team of 8–10 Accounts Payable Clerks
  • Oversee daily AP operations, workload distribution, and processing timelines
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex invoice, payment, and processing discrepancies
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to vendor invoices, payments, and expense claims
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and accounts payable best practices
  • Support training, onboarding, and ongoing performance development of team members
  • Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with Finance and cross‑functional teams as required
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close activities as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding ofend-to-end Accounts Payable processes
  • 1–2 years of people‑management or team‑lead experience
  • Experience working in a high‑volume AP environment
  • Proven ability to manage escalations and resolve discrepancies
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with SAP is an asset
  • Criminal background check is required
