Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk to join our Finance team. The A/P Clerk will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, data entry and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a high level of interest in working with the YMCA HBB as a charitable organization.

What You'll Do
  • Accurately enter invoices into the accounting system.
  • Review and code invoices to appropriate accounts and cost centres.
  • Submit invoices for approval through established workflows.
  • Import and post approved invoices into the accounting system.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders, contracts or supporting documentation as required.
  • Maintain organized records of vendor files and invoice approvals.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal staff regarding invoice status or payments.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes as required.
  • Support the Finance team with other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
  • Certificate or diploma in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance (or equivalent education/experience).
  • Accounting background with knowledge of accounts payable processes required.
  • Previous experience in accounts payable finance or data entry preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
A Major Asset If
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Emphasis on Excel and Outlook) and familiarity with accounting systems an asset.
