GBA LLP is one of Canada’s fastest growing Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) firms serving clients in every province. We are a 40 person team that works closely together through online tools like Zoom and Teams.

We are a client service firm first and an accounting firm second. About the Role

As a full-time Experienced Accounting Technician / Bookkeeper, you will be an essential part of our team by ensuring that our clients’ experience is delivered properly, professionally and on time.

  • Location - This role does not allow remote work. You will need access to transportation as Halton Hills (Georgetown) does not have a public transit system (Bus).
  • Accounting - You will support our clients by performing monthly accounting and reconciliations in a web-based environment (QBO/Xero), processing payroll (Wagepoint), following up with clients, filing GST/HST, etc., and printing custom reports for our clients.
  • Professional Judgement-You will use your experience to help process transaction postings, eligibility and answer basic compliance related questions.
  • Support- You will quickly learn the systems we use on a daily basis to offer high-quality service and support to both our clients and our team.
  • Documentation- You will develop, enhance, and review both internal and external documentation so everyone is kept in the loop.
  • Future Mentor- There is room to grow in this role. We hope you will want to act as a mentor to new team members and continue to be an integral part of process and workflow improvements at GBA.
  • Salary Range - $48,000 - $60,000 per year.
About You
  • Accountable- You don’t shy away from accountability. You like to get your hands dirty to get things done and take full responsibility to ensure quality of work is high and deadlines are met.
  • Personable- You are personable and have great communication skills. Your writing is clear and concise, but not robotic.
  • Quick Learner- You are driven to learn as much as possible and take pride in finding new solutions.
  • Tech Savy- You know your way around a computer and enjoy researching and learning new applications.
  • Experience – You are an accomplished bookkeeper with 2 years+ experience (payroll, reconciliations, and interacting with CRA) and in depth knowledge with QBO. Ideally, you are also comfortable with Xero, Hubdoc, DEXT (Receipt Bank), Wagepoint, Teams, and all Microsoft Office products.
  • Independent- You are comfortable working from home or from our offices. You can remain focused and diligent in an independent work environment (although we are just a Teams message away).
  • Certification -A Canadian QBO Advance certification is required. Xero Certification and CPB is not required but is a “nice to have.”
