Job summary

MNP is seeking an Accounting Technician for its Assurance & Accounting team in Canada. You will assist with audits, bookkeeping, and tax engagements while supporting government filings and client payroll activities.

The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration with management, and travel flexibility. A foundation in accounting and familiarity with tax is preferred, with opportunities for professional development and a comprehensive rewards program.

Qualifications

• Accounting certificate or degree in commerce or business administration.
• Entry level to 2 years accounting experience.
• Experience preparing T4s and T5s; knowledge of personal and corporate tax preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles is an asset.
• Experience with accounting software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements.
• Prepare and maintain government remittances/filings, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions.
• Set-up client files, assist with budgets and administrative planning.
• Perform the month-end and quarter-end close process.
• Maintain and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, AR, AP, liabilities, intercompany and POS uploads.
• Identify issues, investigate discrepancies and discuss resolutions with managers or engagement partners.
• Communicate with government regarding information requests, assessments and installments.
• Work collaboratively with the client engagement team.
• Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions
• Communicate with the government regarding information requests, assessments and installments
• Work collaboratively with the client engagement team
• Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Skills And Experience

• Accounting certificate or bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major is considered an asset)
• Entry level to 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience preparing T4s and T5s and knowledge of personal and corporate tax is preferred
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes is considered an asset
• Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset

The annual salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000.
