What You’ll Be Working On

Our internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. We’ll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment.

We are seeking a student to join us for a 4 or 8 month co‑op/intern position. This position will be based out of Mississauga, ON.

Responsibilities
  • Pull supporting documentation to client job billings
  • Process high volume accounts payables related to projects with 3‑way and 2‑way ePO matching or Overhead Expenses
  • Ensure all purchases are accurately tracked to proper charge code
  • Effectively communicate with Project Team regarding change orders needed with regular follow ups
  • Respond professionally and promptly with internal and external stakeholders
  • Reconcile ePOs, identify inconsistencies and collaborate with project team to resolve discrepancies
  • Assist/support the accounting team as needed, along with ad‑hoc requests and projects as assigned.
Who We Need On Our Team
  • You are currently enrolled in a post‑secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • You will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently
  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships

  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
  • Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries
  • If you are selected for a role in a safety‑sensitive position, you will be required to successfully complete a Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug tests
