Accounting Manager – Grain and Feed

Location: Steinbach

Your days will include:

  • Leading, coaching and overseeing the Feed & Grain Accounting team, including coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Overseeing month-end close, reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Performing and reviewing general ledger reconciliations.
  • Acting as a key liaison between accounting and operational departments (logistics, purchasing, feed operations, etc.).
  • Identifying inefficiencies and leading process improvements to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and reduce manual effort.
  • Supporting with banking approvals
  • Supporting the Director of Accounting with oversight of finance transactions and processes.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • University degree in accounting
  • CPA designation or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience managing, coaching, and developing accounting teams.
  • Demonstrated success in building efficient processes, improving controls, and driving operational improvements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams across multiple locations and functional levels.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • High level of accuracy with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage unexpected issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving ability.
