Job summary

UAP Inc. is seeking a measured and collaborative Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and drive efficiency across the finance function. This role emphasizes tight controls, process optimization, and accurate reporting across Canada.

You will supervise a team of accountants and treasury staff, liaising with corporate controllers and external auditors to ensure adherence to policy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or accounting designation; 5+ years in a similar role.
• Knowledge of accounting theory, consolidation, and internal controls (asset).
• Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written, across Canada.

Responsibilities

• Prepare consolidated financial statements monthly and perform analyses.
• Serve as primary liaison between GPC and UAP accounting team.
• Organize, supervise and train head office accountants and treasury clerks.
• Advise departments to improve accounting procedures, internal controls and policy compliance.
• Supervise head office budgets and consolidated budget reports.
• Collaborate on external/internal audits ensuring cash cycle controls.
• Ensure accounting policies and standards are understood and applied.

Are you passionate about accounting, known for your rigor, leadership, and ability to optimize processes? As an Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in managing and supervising our accounting operations while working with a dedicated and dynamic team.

Your main responsibilities:

• Prepare UAP Inc.’s consolidated financial statements on a monthly basis and perform accounting analyses;
• Serve as the primary point of contact between GPC and the UAP accounting team;
• Organize, supervise, and train head office accountants and treasury clerks.
• Act as an advisor to departments to improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and compliance with corporate policies;
• Supervise and participate in the preparation of head office budgets and consolidated budget reports;
• Collaborate with the Corporate Assistant Controller on external and internal audits, ensuring compliance with key controls for the cash cycle;
• Ensure that accounting policies and standards are understood and applied by all accounting staff.
  

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and/or a recognized accounting designation with a minimum of 5 years in a similar position;
• Knowledge of accounting theory, consolidation, and internal controls (asset);
• Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written, as you will need to collaborate with colleagues and clients across Canada.
