Concrete Inc., a proudly locally owned and operated company serving the Edmonton area for more than two decades, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Accounting; Organize and maintain a high volume of physical and digital records (financial documents, correspondence, security instruments)

  • Manage all aspects of full-cycle accounting and maintain accurate financial records (physical and digital)
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end documentation
  • Inter company transfers and cost recording for 3 companies

Accounts Payable

  • Enter and verify bills and credit card transactions
  • Process vendor payments and prepare EFT packages for review

Accounts Receivable

  • Process and verify invoices in accordance with supplier or project contracts
  • Handle progress invoicing and collections
  • Track job costing and related entries

Payroll & Benefits (up to 40 employees)

  • Ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll processing
  • Administer employee benefits and RRSP programs
  • Manage onboarding, offboarding, and ROE preparation

Month‑End Close & Reporting

  • Prepare and analyze monthly reports and reconciliations (bank, credit cards, etc.)
  • Support financial statement preparation and documentation

Financial & Banking

  • Prepare property-level financial reports, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple properties
  • File GST returns and maintain supporting working papers
  • Manage asset documentation, acquisitions/dispositions, and depreciation schedules
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting with 2 years experience in accounting in construction industry as general or sub contractor OR 5 years accounting experience in construction industry
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to effectively manage your time while balancing multiple priorities. Manage and prioritize daily tasks efficiently to meet deadlines, particularly for time-sensitive processes like security tracking and report generation
