Accounting Clerk – Athabasca Hotel, Jasper, Alberta

Location: Jasper, AB
Compensation: $18.50 per hour
Job Type: Permanent, Full‑time (40–44 hrs per week)
Shift: Regular hours with overtime availability

Job Summary

Support the hotel’s financial operations, handling day‑to‑day accounting tasks such as accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, budgeting, and reporting. Maintain filing systems, perform clerical duties, and manage cash deposits. Work in a fast‑paced, rural hospitality environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts receivable and collect payments from debtors.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare payroll and manage payroll–related tasks.
  • Perform financial calculations related to costing and budgeting.
  • Store, update, and retrieve financial data.
  • Maintain filing and record systems.
  • Prepare financial and operational reports.
  • Manage cash, balance, and deposit cash.
Qualifications
  • Secondary (high school) graduation certificate.
  • 1–2 years of accounting or related experience.
  • Ability to work in a rural area and willing to relocate.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, database software, spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and MS Windows.
  • Understanding of bookkeeping and manual accounting practices.
  • Security and safety awareness; criminal record check required.
  • Good transportation/travel information and own vehicle.
  • Fast‑paced environment; able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle a large workload.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, client focus, excellent oral communication, organization, reliability, quick learner, versatility, resourcefulness, and team player skills.
