THE ROLE

As an Accounting Clerk, you will perform accounting‑related tasks utilizing knowledge of the entire accounting cycle. Your duties may include account payables, account receivables, cash handling and account / bank reconciliations completed in a computerized financial system.

You will receive source documents, verify for compliance and enter in the book of accounts. You will calculate, verify, prepare and issue financial documents and / or reports while ensuring accuracy and integrity.

This is a hands‑on role, requiring the ability to efficiently manage tasks with defined priorities and fixed monthly deadlines. Strong computer skills; including knowledge of excel, customer service skills and an aptitude to learn is important.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, AND some years of experience in accounting, or in a related field

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.

This unionized position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the PSAC Local 70682 bargaining unit for CFMWS Category I employees at HQ, and CFSG Ottawa‑Gatineau.
