We are looking for an Accounting Administration Officer to help grow our business and contribute to our future.

The Accounting Administration Officer will be responsible for accounting operations and administration for ISC and its subsidiaries. Such as entering and reviewing of data in the financial system daily while ensuring compliance with corporate financial commitment and payment authority policies, while maintaining accuracy of the financial records to ensure proper calculations of commodity taxes. Reporting to Manager, Accounting, other highlights include:

  • Create and process periodic cheque runs and direct deposits/EFT files to ensure prompt payment of invoices, along with mailing out cheques and performing bank deposits.
  • Preparation and uploading of Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) files to Workday on a periodic basis.
  • Update, maintain and reconcile accounts payable, receivable, and other general ledger accounts to the trial balance.
  • Effectively handle customer inquiries, including internal employee, management and external vendors while maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the financial ERP system to ensure compliance with ISC’s Internal Controls policies and procedures for the tracking of all fixed assets.
  • Responsible for collaborating with the Purchasing team to ensure purchase orders, associated to an invoice, are received accurately and in a timely manner, and address any discrepancies or concerns.

What you’ll need:

  • An Accounting Diploma, at minimum, (or) its equivalent qualification, and at least three (3) years of related experience, including work experience in a corporate environment.
  • Good understanding of accounting policies & procedures, including commodity tax legislation as it pertains to accounts payable invoices, accounts receivable invoicing, collection, payments, credit cards and refunding on accounts.
  • A general understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Audit standards and fundamental accounting processes, cycles, internal controls, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated work experience in financial ERP systems, and other office software applications such as Word, MS Outlook, and PowerPoint, with strong working knowledge of MS Excel. Experience with Workday Financials would be considered an asset.
  • Strong aptitude for numbers and proven ability to be detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Proven strength in problem solving to support account reconciliation and variance reporting.
