Our Ontario operations are searching for an Accountant to join our accounting team. The Accountant will prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations, analysis and special projects.

Position Description

  • Manages and coordinates the overall financial administration of the assigned division(s).
  • Preparation and submission of monthly financial statements with full analysis and commentary to Senior Staff and the Corporate Accounting Department.
  • Variance analysis on income and expenses as support to the monthly financial Statements.
  • Maintain accounting records within Business Central.
  • Maintain and create production/statistical databases/Excel tables.
  • Assists regional controller with annual audit, budget preparation and forecasts.
  • Assists with month end close; reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and inter-company accounts.
  • Preparation of municipal invoices and revenue share schedules.
  • Responsible for daily/monthly bank reports
  • Provide assistance to Operation Managers as required to increase profitability of the division(s)/company.
  • Preparation of HST and Stats Canada reports
  • Maintain/oversee timely vendor invoice processing and perform/oversee customer collections.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all staff, vendors, clients and municipal government contacts.
  • Maintain and create production/statistical databases/Excel tables.
  • Ad Hoc reporting
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

  • Final year of CPA studies or CPA designation.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in working in fast paced, deadline driven accounting environment.
  • Excellent proficiency with productivity software, MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong skills in using accounting software applications(Business Central,RTA Fleet Management Software, Navusoft or Materials Manager would be an asset)
  • Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills to function in a deadline driven environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with employees at various levels of the organization.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
