Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounts payable functions including recording invoices, maintaining subledgers, posting payments, coding invoices, and vendor communications.
  • Process and verify employee expense reports.
  • Support documentation for annual audits.
  • Monitor vendor accounts for timely payments.
  • Prepare and post journal entries as needed.
  • Complete month-end intercompany, bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare month, quarter, and year-end working papers.

Salary Range: $40,000.00 To $60,000.00 Annually

We are currently seeking a Accountant to join our team. This position is a hybrid role out of our Bedford office.

Reports to: Corporate Controller

Role purpose: As a member of the Finance team, the Accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounts payable maintenance, processing and payment, preparation and posting of journal entries and bank reconciliations.

Key accountabilities
  • Completion of day-to-day accounts payable functions, including:
    • recording of invoices in the accounting system
    • preparation of accounts payable subledgers
    • posting of payments
    • sort, code and match invoices
    • correspondence with vendors
  • Processing and verification of employee expense reports
  • Provide supporting documentation for annual audit
  • Monitor vendor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and made on time
  • Preparation and posting of journal entries as required from time to time
  • Completion of month end intercompany, bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Month, quarter and year end working paper preparation
Experience and qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Willingness and motivation to learn new processes and procedures
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks, Sage, Great Plains and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is not required but would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the accounts payable function and general accounting procedures
  • Diploma or degree in accounting or another related subject
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in an accounts payable or general accounting role would be considered an asset but not required
