The purpose of this role is to drive original equipment and after‑market sales and trial opportunities directly at the end‑user site. It is crucial that long‑term trusting relationships are built with the various customer entities to enhance Weir Minerals' ongoing revenue growth and market share for our respective product lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Focus Area: Build long‑term trusting relationships with on‑site customer personnel in engineering, maintenance, operations, and senior management to help solve their greatest challenges.
  • Focus Area: Hunt for opportunities to increase Weir Minerals' footprint and market share at end‑user sites with consultative sales processes including post‑OE sales support, multi‑product integration, and exclusive material/equipment trials.
  • Focus Area: Demonstrate a presence at all levels of the customer’s business by developing further relationships with integral end‑user corporate personnel to drive technology approvals, understand scope of future operation expansions, and present solutions alongside Weir product line stakeholders.
  • Focus Area: Negotiate customer contracts, from major MSAs to projects and pricing support for large purchase orders. A driven attitude that this is your book of business with a conscious effort toward increasing top‑line revenue and bottom‑line profitability is a must.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive toward developing a world‑class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years of experience selling engineered rotating equipment or other mechanical solutions in highly erosive environments is preferred. Alberta Oilsands experience and an established network of contacts is highly beneficial.
  • Combines a strong competitive nature with active listening skills and a consultative approach to selling.
  • Exceptional ability to present information and respond to questions from various stakeholder groups representing management, technical, and commercial interests both on the client‑side and from within Weir Minerals.
  • A Bachelor Degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline with a focus on mechanical equipment designed for mining or related severe‑duty market segments is preferred. However, consideration will also be given to candidates who do not have a technical education background but can demonstrate exceptional technical knowledge in the mentioned areas due to previous selling experience.
