Job summary

IC Savings is seeking an Account Manager to drive sales and deliver superior service to members. You will promote a full range of banking, lending and investment products, including mutual funds, while building lasting relationships with members.

As part of a busy branch team, you will meet sales targets, assist the Branch Manager, and contribute to community outreach. A strong banking background and proven mutual fund sales are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of banking experience in an advisory/sales role.
  • At least 3 years of mutual fund sales experience.
  • Post-secondary education in business/commerce or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long-term member relationships by identifying financial needs and offering suitable solutions.
  • Assess creditworthiness and make lending recommendations.
  • Promote deposit, investment, mutual fund, and lending products through upselling and cross-selling.
  • Meet and exceed personal and branch sales targets.
  • Participate in branch sales meetings and campaigns.
  • Grow a sustainable sales pipeline through various acquisition techniques.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced and driven banking professional with proven mutual funds sales experience and business development skills in the financial services to join our high performing team in the capacity of Account Manager.

Job Overview

Account Manager will focus on achieving sales targets and providing superior service to existing members and prospects. The role will proactively promote, recommend, up sell and cross sell a full range of banking, lending and investment products and services including mutual funds, and solicit new memberships. Proven sales, service and advice-giving skills coupled with prior banking knowledge and ability to understand, assess and meet member needs are paramount to the success in this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will support the Branch Manager by contributing to the growth of the branch’s personal and business banking segments as well as its lending revenues. Using your thorough and current knowledge of financial products and services, you will deliver expert advice and exceptional customer service to acquire and retain members. In partnership with the Branch Manager, you will also raise awareness of the credit union through its community involvement.

Your responsibilities include:

  • establishing and growing long-term relationships with members by identifying their financial needs, and by providing expert financial advice and personalized banking solutions;
  • assessing credit worthiness and making recommendations to the lending department;
  • promoting a full range of deposit, investment, mutual fund and lending products through up-and cross-selling;
  • meeting and exceeding individual and branch sales targets;
  • actively participating in branch sales meetings, promotional initiatives and campaigns;
  • maintaining a sustainable sales prospect pipeline by confidently soliciting new business through varied acquisition techniques;
  • reviewing the maturities list and other reports regularly, to deepen member share-of-wallet;
  • maintaining professional and ethical standard of conduct at all times while promoting a positive image of the credit union;
  • acting as a senior branch officer when required;
  • assisting the Branch Manager with administrative activities and other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For

A self-starter who values teamwork and is disciplined and knowledgeable professional who places importance on relationship-building and customer service. Working well under pressure, the ideal candidate will also have:

  • at minimum 5 years of related banking experience in advice-giving role, preferably in a sales capacity with proven sales track record;
  • at least 3 years of proven mutual fund sales experience;
  • completed a post-secondary education in business, commerce or a related discipline, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • sound knowledge of banking regulatory and compliance procedure;
  • excellent English-language communications skills, both oral and written; workingknowledge of spokenItalian is highly preferred;
  • proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and DNA;
  • a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
Working Conditions / Physical Effort
  • Professional, team oriented, office environment in a branch setting.
  • Standard branch hours based on 37.5-hour work week: Monday to Wednesday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Thursday to Friday from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm with a requirement to work on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on a rotational basis or as scheduled.
  • Community relations and business development will involve some after-hours activities.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Flexibility to work at and/or relocate to another branch when business needs require it.
  • The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by being able to successfully perform the essential functions of the job; these include, but are not limited to: sitting, considerable use of computer and phone, seldom moving of items up to 25 pounds in weight.
Compensation Range

The compensation range for the position is $60,000 to $75,000. The final compensation offered will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, education, and other relevant qualifications.
