Job description

Location

We are considering applicants from across Ontario, with a preference for candidates located within the Greater Toronto Area, Kitchener Waterloo, London, Ottawa or Hamilton to support in-office collaboration and in-person work with partners.

About Common Wealth

Common Wealth exists to make retirement security accessible to all Canadians. As Canada’s fastest-growing group retirement provider, we serve over 1,800 employers and help tens of thousands of Canadians build long-term financial security. In April 2026, we closed a $12 million Series A. Since early 2024, our employer base has tripled, membership has grown 3.5 times, and assets under administration have quadrupled. More than 80% of our employers are offering a retirement plan for the first time.

Our award-winning platform makes it easy for employers of all sizes to offer competitive retirement benefits. We work closely with a fast-growing network of advisors and aim to be a real partner in growing their business.

About the Opportunity

This role is ideal for someone earlier in their sales career (~2–4+ years) who wants accelerated responsibility, a steep learning curve, and meaningful earning potential as part of a high-growth startup environment. We follow a B2B consultative sales approach including tasks such as: live platform demos, leading webinars, in person training and we value relationship management over transactional selling.

You’ll join a small, high-performing regional pod, where you’ll get strong support. If you thrive in environments where you can build, experiment, and see your impact directly on business growth, you’ll love this role.

What You’ll Do
  • Advisor Relationship Management

    • Deeply understand advisors’ business models and help them grow their group retirement business.
    • Deliver clear, compelling pitches and materials advisors can use with their employer clients.
    • Provide ongoing support and coaching to help advisors generate and advance opportunities.
    • Stay consistently visible to advisors through outreach, meetings, events, and follow-ups.
    • Lead advisor education, including lunch-and-learns, webinars, and our GRS Sales Bootcamp series.
  • Business Development
    • Advance deals with employers from discovery and demos to proposals, contracting, and plan launch.
    • Support active opportunities from existing advisor relationships, ensuring a smooth path to plan kickoff.
    • Present to senior decision-makers, such as business owners and HR leaders, often alongside the advisor.
    • Work with our Implementation and Account Management teams to ensure smooth onboarding and a strong employer experience.
    • Keep your pipeline and activity current in HubSpot so forecasts are accurate.
Who You Are
  • Entrepreneurial Drive. You show initiative, resilience, and creativity in solving problems. You are ambitious by nature and is eager to grow quickly and take on responsibility.
  • Socially Confident. You engage advisors with confidence, build rapport quickly, and keep momentum going. You’re comfortable when you don’t have every answer. You know enough to open the door and you figure out the rest along the way.
  • Empathy. You listen deeply, connect authentically, and adapt to others’ needs.
  • Self-Directed. You thrive with autonomy, staying motivated and accountable without close supervision. You run a thoughtful discovery process.
  • Strong Communicator. You confidently present ideas clearly and persuasively, tailoring your style to the audience. You are able to handle objections and clearly articulate Common Wealth’s value.
Requirements and Nice to Have
  • Required: Valid driver’s licence and a vehicle to travel within your region for advisor meetings, employer presentations, and events
  • Nice to have: Background in group benefits, retirement services, or financial services. Existing relationships with group benefits or wealth advisors
