About The Role

The Financial Institutions and Executive Risk Practice in Toronto is looking for a strong team player to support our large and complex commercial accounts. This role requires someone with strong time management skills, exceptional attention to detail, and proven support experience. It’s a diverse position that involves client service, market negotiations, team administration, and operational support.

You’ll collaborate with a team to determine risk and insurance strategies for a wide array of Canadian financial institutions (with a focus on investment management and private equity) as well as publicly traded companies.

What You’ll Do
  • File and process management
  • Effective communication with clients regarding their insurance and risk
  • Detailed policy proofing/ fact checking
  • Preparation of client renewal packages (certificates, summaries, etc.)
  • Calculating provincial taxes, preparing premium finance quotes, etc.
  • Invoicing / Account Receivables tracking and monthly budget reporting
  • Preparing submission to underwriters and following up for responses
  • Answering basic client inquiries, communicating with insurance companies
  • Input data into computerized database and generating benchmarking reports
  • Provide assistance where required within team, including one-off projects
What You’ll Need for Success
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • RIBO Licensed or willing to obtain within 3 months of employment
  • Minimum 0-3 years of administrative support experience
  • Knowledge and/or experience in investment or accounting i.e. financial statements, financial analysis
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
  • Willingness to learn new risk and insurance products, including strong comprehension skills in reviewing contract/policy language
  • Familiarity with the Canadian financial institution or public markets desired
  • Strong time management, attention to detail and organized
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Adapt to new systems
  • Experience on Epic or similar insurance broker management systems (training will be provided)
