A government organization in Nunavut is looking for an ATIPP and Policy Analyst to develop strategic policies and manage ATIPP requests. Candidates should possess a relevant undergraduate degree and experience in public policy. Fluency in official languages of Nunavut is an asset. This role requires high discretion due to the sensitive nature of information handled.
This employment opportunity is restricted to residents of Iqaluit only.
Reporting to the Manager, Policy and Communications, the ATIPP and Policy Analyst will take a lead role in the development, coordination and management of strategic planning, policies and procedures of the Department of Family Services. The incumbent will process Access to Information and Protection of Privacy (ATIPP) requests for all Family Services divisions and programs, including those in satellite and decentralized offices, coordinating discussions and act as a liaison between the Department, Inuit Organization, and the public. Given the often-sensitive nature of the information entrusted to the Policy Analyst / ATIPP Coordinator, the position requires the incumbent to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality regarding the substance and structure of the work undertaken.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution in Public Policy/Administration, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Law or a related field accompanied by two (2) years of experience in developing and analyzing public policy, programs, and systems in a large organization or government setting.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in one or more of Nunavut’s official languages is an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
