Mitacs is seeking an Advisor, Academic-Industry Partnerships in Ottawa to bridge academia and industry, delivering high-quality programming and building strategic partnerships with researchers, institutions, and partners in Ottawa and eastern Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Mitacs Business Development, Research, and Programs teams to deliver high quality programming.
  • Work closely with stakeholders at University of Ottawa to fully understand the needs of researchers and students, find industry and not-for-profit opportunities, and identify the best programs to capitalize on the research opportunities uncovered.
  • Speak with industry partners to determine their R&D needs, connect them with specialists in academia, and advise them on the best programs to leverage the research opportunities uncovered
  • Create and maintain a network of partners and clients in industry in Ottawa and surrounding regions and academia
  • Provide support to the Business Development team as needed
  • Provide business development support to all Mitacs programs as needed
  • Provide business development and student engagement support

Advisor, Academic-Industry Partnerships — University of Ottawa University, Eastern Ontario

Full-time temporary employment — One (1) year contract

Mitacs Business Development team members are the bridge between academia and industry. We help businesses, not-for profit organizations, and other organizations solve their R&D challenges by building partnerships with academia and using world-class talent from Canadian educational institutions. We are at the forefront of marketing Mitacs programs to businesses, professors, and students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hiring Range: $65,325 - $84,550
